AI in business processes vs chatbot-only
A homepage chatbot rarely moves margins. Extraction, routing, internal search and checks pay — with a human accountable.
In short
Applied AI means classify, extract or forecast on a flow that is already digital. It is not “a model that understands the company” with no list of documents and systems.
- Useful: delivery notes/invoices, tickets, search over manuals, anomalies, quote checks
- Bad first projects: replacing sales, autonomous discounts
- Pilot: one flow, one metric, weeks — not a quarter of slides
| Use | Value | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Public chatbot | FAQs | Low impact, hallucinations |
| Document extraction | Data-entry hours | Must validate in the UI |
| Operational forecasts | Reorder, deals | Needs clean history |
Questions
Do we start from the model?
No: start from a measurable process. The model is the means.
Does DPH sell chatbots?
We embed models in processes. A disconnected bot is not the product.
